Description
This photograph is shows the beautiful multi-colored Quaking Aspens of Autumn covering the mid elevations of Flag Mountain in the Carson National Forest of Northern New Mexico. Sections of the Hondo Wildfire burn scar are visible on the upper elevations of Flag Mountain. The Hondo Wildfire burned 7,525 acres in 1996. Flag Mountain rises to an elevation of 11,946 feet above sea-level and stands approximately 4,000 vertical feet above the valley floor where this photograph was taken.
