This photograph shows the different layers in a Sandia Granite rock face. The mountain peak in the background is one of the high points of the Rincon Ridge and rises to an elevation of 8,201 feet above sea-level. Rincon Ridge is a a smaller sub-range of the Sandia Mountains which rise to an elevation of 10,678 feet in North-Central New Mexico.
